ESET Small Business Security vs ESET PROTECT Entry
Two ways to protect a small business with ESET. The main difference is management: one app per device, or one console for all of them.

The short answer
Choose Small Business Security if you have 5–25 devices, nobody whose job is IT, and you want each device protected with as little admin as possible.
Choose PROTECT Entry if someone (staff or an IT provider) manages your computers, you want one console for policies and alerts, or you expect to grow past 25 devices.

Management: the real difference
Small Business Security puts protection on each device and manages it there. That suits an office where the owner or one staff member looks after a handful of laptops, a couple of phones and perhaps a file server. There's no console to learn.
PROTECT Entry adds the ESET PROTECT console. From one screen you can deploy ESET to new machines, apply the same policy everywhere, see which devices are out of date or have detections, and control USB devices. You pay for that visibility in setup time and in someone's attention. It pays off once you have more devices than you can check by hand, or when an outside IT provider looks after you.
Growth
Small Business Security stops at 25 seats. If you're at 20 and hiring, starting on PROTECT Entry avoids a migration later. PROTECT also gives you a path to Advanced (adds full disk encryption and advanced threat defence) and Complete (adds cloud app protection, mail server security and patch management). See all PROTECT tiers.
ESET Small Business Security
Protects work and personal devices and servers: safe banking, anti-theft, password manager and encryption.
Is ESET Small Business Security the same as ESET PROTECT Entry?
No. Both protect business devices, but PROTECT Entry adds a central management console (cloud or on-prem) for deploying policies and seeing alerts across every endpoint. Small Business Security is app-based and simpler to run.
How many devices can each cover?
On this site, Small Business Security is sold for 5–25 seats (the ESET limit for that product). PROTECT Entry is sold online for 5–100 seats, and larger deployments are quoted.
Which one is cheaper?
At ESET South Africa list prices, 5 seats for 1 year cost R1,469.00 incl. VAT for Small Business Security and R3,110.75 incl. VAT for PROTECT Entry. Prices for other seat counts are in the table.
Can I move from Small Business Security to PROTECT later?
Yes, you can move to ESET PROTECT when you renew or when you grow. Ask ESET or send a request through our quote form if you need help planning it.
