Looking for the best antivirus in South Africa?

There is no single "best" for everyone. Here is a practical checklist – and where ESET fits if it suits you.

What to look for

  1. Independent test results. Check recent reports from labs such as AV-TEST and AV-Comparatives rather than marketing claims (ours included).
  2. Performance. Look for low system impact in lab performance tests, especially on older laptops.
  3. Devices & platforms. Count every Windows PC, Mac and Android phone in the house or office.
  4. Honest ZAR pricing. Compare like for like: devices, term, and whether VAT is included. Watch first-year promos that renew at a higher price.
  5. Support. Check who provides technical support; for ESET plans, support is provided by ESET.
  6. Business needs. Five or more work devices? Consider central management, encryption and email security.

Where ESET fits
